Clear Creek Monastery
Work Group for the Nuns
Work Group for the NunsWe are hoping for 6-12 women who would like to work at the Queen of Angels convent on Saturday, March 7th, 2009. The convent is across the road from the entrance to the Clear Creek monastery, and Sister Anunciata is thrilled for the prospect of a good 'spring cleaning'.
If the weather cooperates, there is outdoor work of general yard clean up and also two garden/flower beds to prepare for spring seed. For these tasks, please bring any hoes, rakes, garden gloves, weeders, and other equipment you think would be handy (marked with your names to avoid confusion, Sister requested). She would also like windows washed and screens cleaned. Windex/your favorite window cleaner is also helpful.
Indoor tasks include window washing, general cleaning, and especially polishing of the oratory brass. Please bring rags and brass cleaner, if you can.
You are welcome to stay at the convent for a simple lunch provided by the Sisters, or go to the big house for the monastery's more substantial meal.
The convent also has need of donations of good garden soil or potting soil for the garden beds, and fertilizer, too.
If you can help with your time and energy, or if you would like to contribute to the supplies, please contact Dean Bennett at cephas101@gmail.com or call him at (918)772-2010. If you are able to pass this message along to other women who may be interested, or have it published in your church bulletin, I would be very grateful for that help. And I ask your prayers over the whole event, for safety for all and the continued blessing to all of simple shared work that doubles the joys of giving!
